Artist in Residence Program
Mrs.
Finch, an Allen School parent and local artisan of hooked rugs, volunteered her time to
come into the art room and teach the 5th grade classes how to create
hooked rugs. The students chose a pattern and traced it onto a piece
of burlap, placed the design in a hoop, and then the kids were
instructed on how to use the special loop hook.
